Kate grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and attended the University of Iowa , graduating with a B.B.A. in marketing. She moved to Crested Butte in 2008 looking to explore her passion for the mountains and fell in love with its unique small town community. Kate joined the team in 2013 and together with Ben, they’ve grown the company into the successful design-build general contracting firm it is today. They both see the company as their first baby and Kate considers it a huge honor and reward to create and share her passion for designing and building in the mountains of Crested Butte with Clients.
Kate and the SCS Team are focused on delivering a high-end product through clear vision, attention to detail and creating artistic perfection through the use of natural materials. Client satisfaction and fun are top priorities for Kate when thinking through the overall design aesthetic of any CB home. On a day off, Kate can be found skiing, hiking, mountain biking, practicing yoga or spending time with the fam! If you catch her during football season, you’ll find her cheering on her favorite team – the Chicago Bears!
